Did you know that when you put the seeds of fruit trees in sand over the winter months they will grow roots and no stem, which makes it ideal to plant them in spring?
We received seeds from real fruit trees last February from Kutluhan’s Farm Shizen. We saved half of them in the fridge, and tried to stratify the others. Unfortunately they didn’t grow any roots, probably because it was too late. This year, we use finer sand and put them out right now, the beginning of November.
The other seeds (that didn’t sprout this spring) are still used for seed balls, and will be sown this week.
