#1 Winter and spring 2022: Starting with the manual removal of rocks on our very dry land

Updated: May 8

Our land has 150 almond trees, planted in rows. The soil is very dry, there is no irrigation and there are a lot of rocks.

Because the land has been grazed by goats and sheep for many years and has been plowed, the topsoil completely vanished and the rocks from deeper in the soil came up.

At some places it is even difficult to walk, because there are so many.

We decided not to use machines, but do all the work by hand, which takes a lot more time, but is also cost saving. We have been lucky to receive help from friends, neighbors and volunteers.
