Nothing happens by accident

Four years ago, while we were looking for a home of our own, we stopped at a house with a vegetable garden full of flowers. We dreamed of having a garden like that and hoped someone might be home to show us around, but the place was quiet.

A few weeks ago a very nice man from the local hardware store invited us to help with his potato harvest. He wanted to show us how we could improve our own yield. We joined him and met a warm group of neighbors, just ten minutes from our house.

For three evenings we worked side by side in their plots, digging up potatoes. They thanked us with juicy tomatoes, potatoes, and fresh lettuce—and after the harvest we all enjoyed a cheerful Spanish-style dinner together.

It turned out that one of those neighbors owns the very house whose garden we admired four years ago. This time we walked through the gate, made new friends, and felt the impulse we had back then come full circle. #community #inlinewithnature #potatoes
