Due to the climate we live in, it is very difficult to make our own compost. We tried a worm farm in a bathtub for over a year, which worked very well. Unfortunately, since we have our coop, most of the food waste goes to our chickens and we didn't have enough to feed the worms.
When people come over during the weekend or holidays, they throw away their waste in the bins. A lot of precious compost material, goes to waste.
We decided to make a worm farm close to the entrance of our property, and a big bin next to the fence, where people easily can throw in their greens and browns.
