Living more in line with nature:
practical actions, not giving up and changing your life one step at a time.

Creating a new life starts with making new decisions. We had to let go so many ideas, thoughts and beliefs about our lives, society, what was true or important for us,... It felt a bit like letting go of an old skin and growing a new one which fitted us much better. From time to time we do this over and over again, choosing a life more in line with what suits us, who we want to be and the change we want to see around us. This doesn't happen by itself. It asks for concrete practical action on different levels.

We make new practical decisions

It's up to us

If we want our life and this society to change, we have to change our behavior and actions. Each moment is an opportunity to choose something different and to course correct.

We all have the possibility to impact and influence the economy by saying no to what we don't want any more. We can choose how we spend our money and resources, with whom we connect, who and what we support, how we invest our time, how we generate basic needs for everyone around us, ...

How are we doing this?

  • We produce as much of own food as we can and buy the rest from local organic farmers or on the local market.

  • We bought furniture made of recycled and ecological wood made by small local producers or made it ourselves.

  • We recycle the water from the house with a grey water system which goes directly to the garden.

  • For electricity we are completely off the grid with a solar panel system.

  • We catch rain water from the roof to use for trees and plants.

  • We drink water from the local well.

  • We dry and can/preserve food for winter.

  • We live more in harmony with the seasons and adapt our food choice to it.

  • We invest our resources in the local economy, supporting local projects.

  • We encourage and support the next generation to share their talents/gifts with the world.

  • We don't want to exclude anyone, so we offer everything by donation of choice.

  • We only buy what we really need and try to use recycled materials.

  • We make/build a lot of things ourselves.

  • We do as much as we can without money, but in exchange, ...

  • We changed our mindset into more community thinking and share our time to help out our neighbors when help is needed.
