This first phase of rebuilding has been the hardest so far. We had to adapt physically, face the freezing winter, and learn many new skills from scratch. It hasn’t been easy—but step by step, we’re growing into it, and the house is growing with us! It shows us that we can do anything, as long as we believe in ourselves and just go for it! After waiting almost a year to get all the documents in order, we finally started the renovation. We broke down lots and lots of walls and even a ceiling, discovering the natural materials used to build this amazing structure. Such an inspiration! We finally managed to finish last summer’s update video! It was a season full of harvesting and processing fresh food straight from the garden — drying fruits and veggies, making juices to enjoy all year round, cooking up lots of marmalades, and even trying a little fermentation experiment.
